Banana & Peanut Butter
Frozen Treats

๐Ÿ“… April 2026โœ๏ธ BudgetDoggo

These frozen treats are ideal for warm weather, teething puppies, or as a slow-release high-value reward. Banana provides potassium and natural sweetness. Peanut butter adds protein and fat. No baking required โ€” just mix, pour, and freeze.

โš ๏ธ Before you start: Follow the 10% treat rule โ€” treats should not exceed 10% of your dog's daily calories. Introduce new foods gradually. Never add salt, garlic, onion, xylitol, grapes, raisins, chocolate, macadamia nuts, or alcohol. If your dog has allergies, a health condition, or is on medication, check with your vet first.

Ingredients

1
Blend everything together
Mash the bananas well, then mix in the peanut butter, yogurt and salmon oil until smooth. A hand blender makes this very quick.
2
Pour into moulds
Spoon into silicone ice cube trays or small silicone moulds. Fill to about 2cm depth.
3
Freeze until solid
Freeze for at least 3โ€“4 hours. Pop out and store in a ziplock bag in the freezer.
4
Serve straight from frozen
Give to your dog straight from the freezer. On hot days, these are a genuinely appreciated treat.
๐ŸŒ
Banana โ€” a good dog ingredient
Bananas are a safe, low-calorie treat for dogs in moderation. They provide potassium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C. The natural sugar content means they should be occasional treats rather than daily โ€” particularly for dogs managing their weight.
